Gills boss Mark Stimson was full of praise for Garry Richards after his long throw-in helped set up his side’s injury-time equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Barnet.
Richards’ long throw-in was flicked into the path of Simeon Jackson who bundled the ball home to ensure the Gills took a share of the points.
Stimson said: “We all set out different plans and what to do in a game, but what we’re all trying to achieve is getting quality into the box. Whether that is a pass, a cross or a throw-in. We’ve all seen the lad at Stoke (Rory Delap) who puts it in fantastically well.
“Garry has got a long throw so every now and again we’ll use it. It was great that Garry took the initiative. It was the last minute of the game and he ran up and said I’ll throw this in.
“Maybe six weeks ago that might not have happened. It was good that he did it and then Simeon obviously getting on the end of it.”
