Rising swimming stars heading for the big stage

British Swimming has unveiled the next generation of elite athletes within two squads bound for this summer's World Youth Swimming Championships and the European Junior Championships.

Among them are Liesje vd Velde, from Beckenham, who will be going to the youth event in Monterrey, Mexico from July 8 to 13.

And Bexley's Xavier Mohammed is heading for the junior championships in Belgrade, Serbia, from July 30 to August 3.

The teams will be led by head coach Dave Champion, from Ipswich, who will be looking for Britain's talented young swimmers to continue the impressive form shown in qualifying for the events.
