Gillingham have secured first team coach Mark Robson on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
Robson was considering an offer from Gillingham for a number of weeks but had been interviewed for a management position elsewhere, meaning he was unable to commit himself.
The coach, who is a long time friend of Gills boss Mark Stimson, has been working on a non-contract basis since the summer after leaving Charlton.
Robson has not hidden his desire to one day manage a football club but in the short-term he will be staying at Priestfield to help Gillingham’s promotion push.
