BRISTOL Rovers supporters are already clamouring for tickets to see the club's FA Cup, fourth round, tie at Gillingham on Saturday, January 26. More than 7,000 supporters followed the club to Pride Park to see them become the first Division 3 side to beat a Premier League team in the Cup.
Since Sunday's draw, West Country demand to see the Gillingham tie is increasing daily among followers of the giant-killers. Under FA rules, Gillingham must give Rovers 15 per cent of tickets which would amount to 1,650 as Priestfield's capacity is 10,992.
Rovers have 3,800 season tickets holders, most of whom, have already indicated that they want to make the trip to Priestfield.
A Rovers spokesman said: "We were able to exceed our quota at Pride Park because there was plenty of room. While we accept we won't be able to take the same number to Gillingham, we will take every ticket they can give us."
To cope with the demand, Gillingham chairman Paul Scally may be tempted to give Rovers the entire Gillingham End in what is already heading for a sell- out. Gillingham season ticket holders have from Tuesday, January 8, until Wednesday, January 16, to claim their tickets.
On Thursday, January 17 and Friday 18 they go on sale to Priestfield Club members before going on general sale on Monday, January 21.
