All four Kent clubs in the Ryman League Premier Division won on Saturday.
Maidstone United are up to third after they beat Lowestoft 2-0 in front of 2,041 at the Gallagher Stadium. Frannie Collin and Alex Flisher scored within three minutes of each other just after the hour.
Charles Ademeno struck after two minutes to give Margate a 1-0 win at Wealdstone. That result leaves the Gate sitting eighth, two points outside the play-offs.
Thamesmead Town and Cray Wanderers still occupy the bottom two places but they both closed the gap to the teams above them by taking three points on Saturday.
Cray won 4-1 at home to Met Police with goals from Dmitri Larin, Alex Stavrinou, Jordan Clarke and Tommy Whitnell.
Above them on goal-difference are Thamesmead. Tyrus Gordon-Young’s 59th-minute strike proved decisive in their 1-0 win over East Thurrock United.
It was a mixed weekend for the county’s clubs in the FA Trophy preliminary round. Four went through, three crashed out and two more face replays in midweek.
Folkestone Invicta led the way with a 6-0 hammering of Waltham Forest at the Fullicks Stadium. Steve Harper, Frankie Chappell (2), Dane Luchford and Simon Austin (2) scored their goals, four of which arrived in the last nine minutes.
There was a 5-1 win for Whitstable Town at the home of local rivals Sittingbourne. Ashley Baverstock and Charlie Smith both scored twice for the Oystermen and Craig Thompson also netted, before Ryan Golding grabbed a consolation goal for Sittingbourne.
Chatham Town won 3-2 at Redbridge thanks to goals from Lee Hales, Austin Gacheru and James Alderman.
Dave Cook scored two goals, one from the penalty spot, to give Hythe Town a 2-1 home win over Aveley.
Herne Bay were held to a 0-0 draw by Merstham, while VCD Athletic also face a replay after they drew 2-2 at home with Aylesbury. The Vickers were 2-0 down but goals from Nick Reeves and James Duckworth kept them in the competition.
Marcus Cassius scored for Erith & Belvedere but they went down 4-1 at Dunstable Town.
Faversham Town lost 4-2 away to Aylesbury United on Sunday. Brendon Cass and Jamie Maxted were on target for the Lilywhites.
