BROMLEY manager George Wakeling remains in confident mood as his side prepare for a Ryman League Premier Division trip to high-flying Staines on Saturday.
Despite failing to win any of their last four league games, and occupying a lowly position, the Lillywhites boss believes his side can still mix it with the best.
He said: "We don’t roll over for anyone. Staines are right up there and doing really well. We’ll go with a positive attitude and see what we can get out of the match."
Leading scorer Nic McDonnell is a doubt (hamstring), while Tutu Henriques (ankle) is nearing a return to fitness.
Folkestone Invicta face a tough home match against Fisher Athletic at the Buzzlines Stadium.
Fisher are currently second in the table but are the highest goalscorers so far this season in the division. The London club are now managed by former Tottenham and Portsmouth defender Justin Edinburgh, who was previously in charge at Billericay Town.
Invicta drew 0-0 in the league and lost 4-2 in the Westview (Ryman League) Cup away to Fisher earlier this season, either side of their big FA Cup tie away to Chester City.
Margate will be hoping new signing Danny Hockton continues his fantastic early form when they entertain Braintree Town at Hartsdown Park.
Hockton has been reunited with former Billericay team-mate Bertie Brayley, who made both his goals, in the 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon.
In Ryman League Division 1, Dover Athletic head for Lymington and New Milton desperately needing to repeat their FA Cup win on the same ground in August.
A repeat would be a welcome boost for beleaguered, stuttering Whites and their increasingly frustrated fans.
Tuesday night’s 3-1 defeat at Cray Wanderers left Clive Walker’s side with just two wins from 12 league games and their chances of automatic promotion are fading fast.
Dover will again parade new striker Kevin Cooper, signed from Metropolitan Police on a non-contract basis until the end of the season.
Nick Humphrey could return in central defence, while first choice goalkeeper Darren Smith is still recovering from his broken finger and will sit on the bench. Anthony Hogg is available again after a one-match ban.
Boosted by their win over Dover, Cray Wanderers welcome Whyteleafe to Hayes Lane.
Ashford Town travel to fellow-strugglers Burgess Hill on Saturday eager to continue their recent good form which has given them a fighting chance of staying in the Ryman League.
Eight points from the last four games, seven them won on the road, represents the club’s best run in a disappointing season, and a win at Leylands Park will take them above the Sussex side.
Tommy Adlington is ruled out by two game ban, while Joff Thorogood starts a similar ban the following week. Jamie Smith is also suspended, while Joby Thorogood faces a fitness test on a damaged heel.
Tonbridge moved up to third spot in table with a goalless away draw to play-off chasers Bashley on Saturday and host Leatherhead this weekend.
League leaders Ramsgate enjoy a 10-day break following their 5-0 win over Lymington & New Milton on Saturday.
Sittingbourne shared eight goals with the Southern League Division 1 East bottom club Potters Bar on Saturday and face a much harder test this weekend.
Play-off hopefuls Wivenhoe travel to Central Park and Lovell is banking on his defence to shape up.
Manager Steve Lovell said: "We always look like producing chances but individual errors at the back are costing us. It’s important to learn from them."
In the same division, Chatham Town entertain Barking & East Ham United while Dartford travel to Berkhamsted Town.
