GILLINGHAM chairman Paul Scally has hit out at FIFA after they refused to give any further concessions on the transfer window to clubs outside the Premiership.
The Football League has been told by the world governing body that next season their clubs will have the same transfer restrictions as clubs in the top flight.
Scally said: "This is not just bad news for clubs in the Championship - it's absolutely terrible news.
"Nobody seems to be able to give any good reasons why this benefits football or football clubs.
"But the Premiership clubs support the transfer window and it seems they won't trade with us if we don't support it.
"After all the bad things that have happened to smaller clubs over the years, this is the last thing we need."
