GILLINGHAM chairman Paul Scally believes Premiership football could come to the area if his stadium dream becomes a reality.
The club hope to unveil the location for a new stadium complex by the end of March and Mr Scally is looking towards a bright future.
The long-running negotiations for a move away from their current Priestfield site are at a critical stage and Mr Scally is keeping tight-lipped over the potential site so as not to wreck the deal.
"We’re in the middle of very complex negotiations and I don’t want to mess those up," he said. "The deal is more important than a guessing game as to where the site is."
He stressed: "I think there is massive potential in Medway and the area has a great future. We want to be a part of it and we want to bring Premiership football to Medway.
"I’m not saying that just because we get a new stadium it will take us into the Premiership, but it gives us a better chance."
