GILLINGHAM chairman Paul Scally has added some of the managerial responsibilities to his extensive workload.

Mr Scally has held discussions with the players ahead of Saturday's game at home to Brighton and he's looking to add his input into the proceedings.

He said: "I've got two coaches and I'll be talking to them.

"I've given my opinion to the players and they concur with what I've said about how we should play. They've got to play football and have to keep it on the deck.

"I've seen thousands of games and I know when things are going right or wrong."

The two coaches, Iffy Onuora and Mick Docherty, have been dealing with the training sessions and the chairman will be looking on this weekend.

But he insisted he won't be taking a place in the dug-out. "I'm the manager if I get a result and if I don’t, then Iffy's the manager," he joked.
