GILLINGHAM’S trip to Hartlepool on Saturday, October 8 could be postponed due to international call-ups.
The home game with Barnsley on Friday night was rescheduled for Tuesday, September 13 when three of the club’s players were called up for international duty.
That allowed Gillingham to take advantage of Football League rules and re-schedule the fixture, and a similar situation is likely to arise for the trip to Hartlepool.
Defender Brent Sancho played all 90 minutes for Trinidad & Tobago as they beat Guatemala 3-2 in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday, with Ian Cox on the substitutes’ bench.
Both players will travel with the squad to play Coast Rica on Wednesday and are almost certain to be involved in the trip to Panama on October 8 – the same date as the Hartlepool match.
Andrew Crofts was the other Gillingham player on international duty at the weekend, winning his fifth Wales Under-21 cap in the 4-0 home defeat to England on Friday night.
Crofts will be hoping to be in the squad for Wednesday’s visit to Poland and the trip to Germany on October 7.
