On-loan Tottenham midfielder Charlie Daniels is ready to solve Gillingham's left-sided issues.
The 21-year-old arrived at Priestfield on a one-month loan deal on Tuesday, eager to play football after nine years in the shadows at Spurs.
“All I want to do is play football,” he said. “I was given the chance to come here and I just want to grab it with both hands.
“It’s nice to get competitive football again this season. I’ve been frustrated at Spurs with not getting out quicker but that’s due to other circumstances.”
Previous loan spells with Chesterfield and more recently Leyton Orient have given Daniels a taste of life away from the reserves.
With a natural left foot and an ability to play anywhere down that flank, he’s just what manager Mark Stimson is after.
“We’ve been looking at him for a while,” said Stimson, who first noticed the youngster’s talents while working in Tottenham’s academy.
“He’ll add balance on the left and has a decent chance of being involved this weekend."
