Rainham snooker player Gerard Greene sent former champion Ken Doherty crashing out in the final qualifying round of the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield on Tuesday night.
Greene, who has played three times at the Crucible but never got past the first round, took the first four frames before Doherty battled back to within two frames at 6-4.
Greene moved into a 9-4 lead and although Doherty pulled one back Greene went on to seal victory.
He said: "Everyone wants to get there. Hopefully this time I can sneak through the first round. If I play well I'll be a test for anyone."
Greene will be joined at the Crucible by fellow Kent player Barry Hawkins who defeated Daniel Wells 10-9.
The Dartford player led 6-3 after the first session, before Wells battled back to 6-6. Hawkins then led 8-6 and 9-7, only for Wells to level at 9-9.
Hawkins only needed one chance in the decider, potting a tricky red close to the top cushion and building a run of 80.
He said: "I would have been devastated to lose. I could have won a lot more easily but I made a few ridiculous mistakes. If I can cut those mistakes out then I could be dangerous.
"I was a nervous wreck in the last frame, but to win it in one visit is brilliant. It gives me a lot of confidence."
