EFE SODJE hasn’t given up hope of Gillingham clinching promotion this season.

The central defender has plenty of promotion experience, having tasted success at six of his seven former clubs, and believes it’s not too late to mount a challenge this season.

Sodje said: “I don’t want to be down near the bottom but how many games have we played this season?

“I know when I was playing for Huddersfield, we were struggling down near the bottom, but all of a sudden before Christmas we picked up and we got into the play-offs.

“We’re not down in any level, we’re not even thinking about relegation. We know we can get to the top. Nothing’s too late for us.

“There’s a long, long time to go."
