GILLINGHAM defender Efe Sodje has joined League 2 strugglers Bury on a one-month loan.

The experienced 35-year-old had been a regular in the Gills' back-line until a horror injury at Yeovil in November left him on the sidelines recovering from a compressed fracture of the cheekbone.

Since then, the former Nigerian international has struggled to get back into the team but he should be included in Bury's trip to Stockport County on Saturday.

Bury are at the wrong end of the League 2 table, just four points above the drop zone to a non-league future.

Meanwhile, the Gills have allowed midfielder Craig Stone to remain with League 2 side Brentford for a further month.
