Efe Sodje will join Bury on a two-year deal following his release from Gillingham yesterday.

The Nigerian defender spent the end of last season on loan with the League 2 side and will sign for the club permanently tomorrow (Thursday).

Sodje is expected to take on a player/coach role for the Shakers after ending a disappointing stint with Gillingham where he played just 16 games.

His final game for the Gills was in November at Yeovil where he suffered a compressed fracture of the cheekbone.

In February he moved on loan to Bury and made 16 appearances for the club where he made a favourable impression.
