SPITFIRES face their toughest limited overs task of the summer to date on Sunday when they travel to take on a star-studded Surrey Lions at The Oval.

With a squad packed with 14 internationals Surrey are in the enviable position of having to play Test players in their second string, whereas Kent are down to the bare bones of a squad after long term injuries to David Fulton (eye), Min Patel (back) and Amjad Khan (fractured shin).

With three wins from as many starts, Surrey top the National Cricket League's top division while Kent, with just one win from as many matches, are looking over their shoulders into the drop zone.

Acting captain Mark Ealham again looks set to revert to his one-day side, which should lead to a recall for ex-Somerset all-rounder Peter Trego at the expense of swing bowler Alamgir Sheriyar.

The 45 overs a side match starts at 1pm.
