KENT will hope to avoid a run of three consecutive totesport League defeats this Sunday when they travel to Bath to take on Division 2 rivals Somerset Sabres.

The sides last met in 2002, when both occupied Division 1 berths. Honours finished even that season with Spitfires gaining a 126-run win at home only to lose by 118 runs in Taunton.

It will be the first time the clubs have met at the Recreation Ground, the home of Bath Rugby Club, since the championship campaign of 2000 when Rahul Dravid starred as Kent's overseas player.

This season Kent's top overseas slot has been taken by all-rounder Andrew Hall who will be looking for a third successive 50 on Sunday and a first win in Spitfires colours.

While Hall has proved a resounding success with bat and ball, his compatriate Justin Kemp has yet to shine and he too will be looking to make an impact this weekend.

Captain David Fulton conceded he made a tactical blunder by omitting left-arm spinner from the side that lost to Derbyshire in Maidstone, so Rob Ferley can expect a re-call, possibly at the expense of Martin Saggers who has proved expensive in one-day cricket this term.
