KENT’S dismal totesport League form continued with a hapless batting display against Warwickshire in Birmingham.

Batting first on a difficult Edgbaston pitch that was clearly effected by the mid-week monsoon, Spitfires were shot down for just 135 with 43-balls of their 45-over allocation still remaining.

Only Michael Bevan with 35 and Rob Ferley 20 made contributions of note as the pitch helped seamers and spinners alike in a Kent innings that included just 10 boundaries.

Off-spinner Mark Wagh bagged two for 18 while seamer Heath Streak made the most of some early trampoline bounce to finish with three for seven.

The Bears used there spinners in all, who between them claimed five for 36 with wicketkeeper Keith Piper having a hand in five wickets with four catches and a stumping.
