MARGATE are pressing ahead with redeveloping Hartsdown Park, as the club’s administrators continue to reach a satisfactory conclusion over the Creditors Voluntary Agreement.
Gate are hoping to have the new pitch ready for drainage and irrigation systems to be installed and see topsoil and either seeding or turfing taking place.
The club have also ordered temporary terracing, and seated stands that take two months to deliver, and a final decision on floodlights is also likely to be made soon.
Margate are also planning to build five-a-side pitches on the north end of the site, aimed at generating short-term income.
Meanwhile, Maidenhead United, the club who finished immediately above the Thanet side in the Nationwide South table have been saved from relegation after crisis club Hornchurch went bust.
The Berkshire side finished two points above Margate, before they lost 10 points themselves last month. Maidenhead announced the news at a meeting called after an apparent bust-up between fans and club officials after the 2-1 final day defeat, which left them facing the drop.
