KENT and England players Rob Key and Min Patel will turn out for their county against their club Bexley.
The match between Kent and Bexley on Wednesday will mark the 200th anniversary of the first meeting of the two sides in 1805.
On that occasion, Bexley – now in the Kent Premier League – won by an innings and 14 runs. Kent avenged that defeat in 1955 when they bowled Bexley out for just 94 to secure a 135-run victory in the 150th anniversary match.
Two players from Bexley’s 1955 team – Derek and Jimmy Hood – are expected to be at the game at Manor Way, with play scheduled to start at 11.30am.
The Kent team for the 45-over game will be captained by Patel and is set to feature a number of capped players.
As part of their bicentenary celebrations, Bexley have already taken on the MCC, the Club Cricket Conference President’s XI and a Kent Cricket League XI.
Club chairman Dean Webster said: "We hope the people of Bexley turn out in force to support the club for this match."
