Gillingham v Doncaster
MARK STIMSON leads his side out at Priestfield for the first time tonight against Doncaster.
And the newly-appointed boss has called for the fans to play their part in the League 1 clash.
"It's not about me, it's the players and the crowd need to be behind them," he said.
"Turn up in your numbers and put all your voices into the players. They're the ones who need it.
"I'm going to be on the sidelines and giving my best but they're the ones to get right behind.
"Chant their names out. I'm sure the supporters have got a couple of heroes in that team, call out their names as much and as loud as you can.
"I've played and I know when my name has been shouted out it made me grow and it gives players extra confidence.
"It's so important in a club from your cleaners to the groundstaff, to the players, to the board of directors and most importantly the supporters - they're the ones that come through the turnstiles every week.
"We're in it together. We've got to get united quickly and once we are united I think the club will go forward.
"We need to be together and if we're all singing off that same hymn sheet we've got a chance.
"We saw that at Swansea that when their crowd started to sing it was quite daunting and that gave their players a massive lift."
Gillingham boast an impressive home record and are unbeaten in their least seven games at Priestfield. Stimson also has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
