Gillingham retained their outside chances of survival despite being held to a draw on home turf by Swindon.
The Gills will now head to Leeds on Saturday needing a win and hoping Bournemouth get nothing more than a draw and Cheltenham lose.
Bournemouth, who have won their last six games, travel to Carlisle while Cheltenham, who have lost their last four, face a home match against Doncaster.
Leeds are already safely in the play-offs but will have a sell-out crowd cheering them on.
It won’t be any easier for Gillingham’s relegation rivals as they both play teams chasing the one remaining automatic promotion spot.
Gillingham manager Mark Stimson knows it’s now time for his team to deliver and he remains confident they have what it takes.
"If we play like we have recently, then why not?" insisted Stimson.
"Whoever is picked for that game, I’m sure they will do what they’ve done for the last 10 games for this club. They will play with a lot of pride, a lot of commitment and we also have quality now we have the likes of Kevin Maher in the team.
"We played well against Carlisle and asked big questions of Swansea. Leeds will have 39,000 supporters behind them, which they might think will give them an upper hand. But it should give us an edge to think, 'we’ll turn you over in your back yard'.
"It will be an experience for some players who haven’t played in front of big crowds before and they should definitely enjoy it if they get selected."
