MARK STIMSON has hinted that striker Leroy Griffiths may be handed a contract until the end of the season.
Griffiths's short-term deal expires in the middle of next week and Stimson looks set to keep hold of the 31-year-old.
Stimson is impressed with the striker's attitude and believes the former QPR player adds as much to the team off the pitch as on it.
"He's got a great tempo and great buzz around him and he tries to make the place spark," said Stimson.
"That's what you have got to have. You have to have this massive appreciation that we're getting paid for what I think is the best job in the world.
"If you went through the division's top teams, they've all got at least four or five characters like that. You remember these people.
"They can make the training session and the atmosphere before the game just with their banter and the way they move around the place. If you have four or five of them then myself and Scott's job becomes much easier.
"He's got desire and if you're a defender and you have Leroy coming on for 20 minutes, if he plays like the way he has against Orient and Forest, he's a pest and is a problem.
"He hasn't done himself any harm and we could possibly do something until the end of the season with him."
