Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has picked out striker Simeon Jackson as a player other members of his squad should look up to.
Just a week after what Stimson described as Jackson’s worst performance of the season at Shrewsbury, he praised his striker’s willingness to improve and impress following his goal in the 2-1 defeat at Aldershot.
“The kid worked extremely hard on Saturday,” said Stimson. “I said to the other players that he’s the player at the club who I think deserves to go furthest because his attitude is phenomenal.
“The amount of extra training he asks me and the coaches for is unbelievable. He got his rewards, worked his socks off and got the goal.
“We thought we had got back into it and were taking a good point away, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.”
