Gillingham are giving trialists Joe Howe and Lachlan Cahill a run out in today’s reserve match against QPR.

The pair will be out to impress manager Mark Stimson who takes charge of the Gillingham second string in this afternoon’s visit of the Championship side.

Howe is currently playing for Fisher where he plays at left back. He began his career at MK Dons and also had spells at Northamption, Ebbsfleet and Welling.

He can play down both flanks in defence and also operate in midfield.

Australian Lachlan Cahil is another versatile player and his latest club was Wollongong Wolves.

Experienced midfielder Micah Hyde has, as expected, been included in the team as has Dennis Oli who is on the road to recovery after breaking a bone in his foot.

Gills: Julian, Howe, Bartrum, Lewis, Mills, Essam, Cahill, Hyde, Pugh, Oli, Rooney. Subs: Murphy, Rance, Stimson, Geering, Quinn.
