Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has been delighted with his side's firepower - even with 14-goal leading scorer Simeon Jackson on the bench.
The Gills have now scored seven in their last two games and Stimson said: “We’re starting to spoil people and expectations will go up now.
"It’s good and I’ve always said I want my teams to score goals.
“That’s what gets you off your seat and that’s what people pay money to see. That’s pleasing and again that’s without using our main man.
“We’ve had two games without him (Jackson) and he’s only been involved in short periods of those games and we scored seven goals.
“That’s good because we’ve shown we can do it and when he’s back in the side and he can do it as well then we should have goals from all directions.”
Stimson dropped Jackson to the bench after a goal drought but he’s seen no let-up in the striker’s enthusiasm.
“His attitude has been spot on,” said Stimson. “When he’s back out there he’ll get his goals.
“He’ll be the first out on the training pitch and the last one in because he wants to get back in the team.”
Stimson opted to begin with big striker Mark McCammon on Saturday – in preference to Jackson – for his first start since the end of October.
Stimson said: “I don’t think he’ll ever be a crowd favourite because of the way he plays and runs around but it’s a team game. The division we’re in sometimes you need a player like that to do the horrible stuff.”
