GILLINGHAM manager Mark Stimson is hoping that his hunger to be the best will rub off on everyone around him at Priestfield.
Since his appointment on November 1, Stimson has set about revitalising a club with lofty ambitions.
He said: "This is a fantastic job. I've been involved in football since I was young and I've been fortunate to stay in it.
"I want people walking through the door realising how lucky they are to be paid to do this fantastic job and to have a smile on their face.
"There are a couple of new faces and characters here now. There is that little bit of buzz around the place. That's the way it should be."
Stimson has added seven new faces to the squad, brought in a fitness coach and new ideas on training and diet and left many experienced players on the sidelines, as his new-look side attempt to get the club moving forward.
He added: "We've brought some players in to try and get the club going in the right direction. That adds competition for places and the best players who take that competition on will gain and obviously play more games.
"It's been quite hectic over the last couple of weeks but it's been great. That's what I would prefer. It's better than sitting around doing nothing like I was doing when I left Stevenage. I was bored."
