Gillingham manager Mark Stimson will be doing his best to retain the services of experienced pair Kevin Maher and Danny Cullip for next season.
Stimson has Maher on loan until the end of the season while Cullip’s short-term deal also expires in May.
Stimson said: “I’m going to try and go out of my way to bring people like Kevin Maher to this football club because his quality is above what we’ve got and we need people like that.
“If we can get him to join us on a long term basis it would be fantastic.”
Stimson would also like to see 31-year-old Cullip extend his stay and has already mooted the idea with the player.
“We’re in the process of talking with Danny Cullip and hopefully we can agree something with him,” said Stimson.
“It’s players of that calibre who we want to bring to the club and they will help us to progress.”
