GILLINGHAM have raided Blue Square Premier side Stevenage once again to add two more faces to their squad.

Mark Stimson has gone back to his former club to sign right-back Barry Fuller and midfielder Stuart Lewis - both on two and a half year deals.

Ashford-born Fuller, 23, is a former Charlton trainee and was delighted to be joining his local team.

“I’m a Kent boy and it’s good to get the opportunity with my local league club,” he said.

“Gillingham are a good club and have the ability to be up there challenging at the end of the season. I’m sure we can improve our results because the gaffer is really positive and is starting to build something special here.”

Gillingham got Lewis at the second attempt after missing out during the last transfer window.

The 20-year-old began his career at Tottenham before joining Stevenage in March, 2007.

He said: “I started out at Spurs and I’m pleased to be back in the league. This is a big opportunity for me and one I’m looking forward to.”

Stimson had previously signed Adam Miller and John Nutter from Stevenage.

He said: “They have good qualities and are good characters too.

"They have instantly settled in with the rest of the boys and I’m sure the fans will quickly appreciate what they have to offer.”
