Gillingham manager Mark Stimson believes the club’s home form will mean the difference between survival or relegation.
The Gills face two home games in four days and Stimson sees the remaining four games at Priestfield as being vital.
“Our home games are massive,” he said. “I know we’ve got Carlisle, who are near the top and we’ve got Swansea coming up but we’ll have that crowd behind us and hopefully Danny Cullip and Andrew Crofts back in the team.
“The two strikers showed good willingness and pace and that will give us a chance of winning our home games. If we do that then im sure that will be enough to keep us in this league.”
Carlisle’s visit on Saturday is followed by the re-arranged home match against Luton on Tuesday. Also visiting Priestfield before the end of the season will be league leaders Swansea and old rivals Swindon.
Even winning all of those may not be enough and Stimson knows his side will need to pick points up away from home and is already looking forward to the trip to Millwall on April 5.
He said: “I think an away win will help and the Millwall game is setting up nicely. If we can do our work in the next two home games, lets go down the Den and enjoy ourselves.
“It’s a good place to go to because you only have to start bright there and the crowd turn. They will be with them for ten, fifteen minutes but if we are positive there’s not many places turn like they do and that game, if we can set it up, is one you really want to be involved in.”
