Gillingham boss Mark Stimson was forced to reflect on another away defeat – the fourth of the season so far - following the 2-0 loss at Lincoln on Tuesday night.
He said: “If you look at the league we’ve played a few decent sides away from home this season, Lincoln being one as well,” he said.
"We’ve got two away games coming up now, one in the league and one in the FA cup and I said to the players this can really set their season up nicely if they do it properly.
"They could be in the next round of the cup and up there challenging for the play-off positions or automatic positions.”
