Brighton v Gillingham
GILLINGHAM travel to near-neighbours Brighton today for the first of three straight away games.
The Gills follow up their visit to the Withdean Stadium with long trips to Hartlepool on Saturday and Doncaster the following midweek.
Brighton are still hanging on to faint hopes of a play-off place and manager Mark Stimson knows the trip will be a testing one for his side.
Stimson said: "They’ve got a decent home record and like all teams in this division they have one or two players who catch your eye and we’ve got to be ready for them.
"It’s a local game and it’s one for the supporters. There’ll be a lot of banter that goes with it and the boys will be made aware of that.
"We’ve got to go and take the defensive performances from our last two games and that little more belief in the attacking third, and maybe we can come away with something. We want to build on this two-game spell.
"We’ve played two games at home against two sides who have been a little defensive and we’ve done well. Maybe if we play a team at home, they may come at us more and open up gaps for our attacking players to exploit."
Stimson will wait on news of Simon King’s (ankle) condition before selecting his team. Also on the mend are Mark Bentley (Achilles) and Nicky Southall (hamstring).
