Oldham Athletic v Gillingham
MANAGER Mark Stimson is confident his style of football will help Gillingham climb the League 1 table.
The Gills have scored just once in their last five games and return to action with a trip to Oldham Athletic this Saturday.
Stimson said: “We want to play a certain way. We are still not playing completely the way I would like to because there are different ways some of the players have been asked to play.
“With a lot of the players who have worked with me you can see that when they get the ball they know where it has got to go.
“The other players who haven’t worked with me are missing that little link. We’ve just got to be patient as I do think it is a way out of the league.
“The two teams at the top of the league – Swansea and Doncaster – are the two best teams I’ve played football wise. That’s the way forward.”
One player who will boost Gillingham’s attacking threat is Dennis Oli, who has recovered from his hamstring injury.
Stimson added: “He should be busting a gut and full of enthusiasm. Dennis wants to get back out there and show what he can do. It’s been frustrating times for him over the last six or seven weeks.
“He’ll definitely play on Saturday and hopefully add that little something we have been missing.”
