CHARLTON are considering an invitation to take part in the Asia Cup this summer.
The four-team tournament is set to be held in Shanghai from July 20-24, although Alan Curbishley's men would probably need to be in China for at least seven days.
Places were offered to the teams sitting first, seventh and 12th in the Premiership at the completion of last week's midweek fixtures.
Therefore, Chelsea and Newcastle have also been offered the chance to take their place, with an as yet unconfirmed Chinese team making up the quartet.
