Bradford City 1 Gillingham 3
GILLINGHAM ended their disappointing run of form with a gritty 3-1 victory at Bradford City on Saturday afternoon.
In an entertaining first period, clear cut chances were scarce although the visitors will feel they should have taken the lead on 22 minutes but Paul Shaw's near post shot was saved by Bradford goalkeeper Aidan Davison.
That miss appeared to be costly when the hosts scored just before half time as Andy Gray slid the ball in at the far post after a good cross from Lewis Emanuel.
Bradford should have doubled the lead within a minute of the re-start but Delroy Facey couldn't convert when through on goal.
Gills grabbed their equaliser from the penalty spot 10 minutes later when Robert Molenaar bundled Mamady Sidibe over in the box. Marlon King made no mistake with the penalty.
And the Gillingham number nine put the away side ahead 16 minutes from time with an excellent curling shot from 25 yards.
The home team rarely threatened to net an equaliser and conceded their third deep into injury time when substitute Rod Wallace scored with a right foot shot.
