Weston-super-Mare v Margate

MARGATE'S Ross Graham-Smith should be fit for the Nationwide South trip to Weston-super-Mare on Saturday.

He limped out of last Saturday's 1-1 draw against Sutton United with a knee problem, but trained on Wednesday night, showing no ill effects.

Boss Chris Kinnear gambled on the Canadian defender starting the game after he complained of stiffness during the warm-up and he was eventually forced off early in the game.

Defender Darren Annon is on crutches after undergoing an operation on his snapped achilles tendon which has ended his season early. Fellow long term casualties Mark Green and Pat Gradley are also still out of action.

Margate won 2-0 when the two teams met at Homelands last October with goals by top scorer Che Stadhart and Darren Watson.

One player who won't have to travel far to face his former club is goalkeeper Peter Trego. The former Kent and Somerset cricketer lives just around the corner from Weston's Winterstoke Road ground, and watched Kent rivals Welling win there on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the club are still waiting to see American midfielder Conor Lander in action. They have received international clearance to play him but he still has to obtain an EU passport and work permit to allow him to play in front of a paying crowd.

KM-fm sports editor Simon Watts spoke to Kinnear ahead of the clash...
