KENT'S Aussie all-rounder Andrew Symonds had a hand in both wickets to fall as Lancashire went into tea on 113 for two.
Responding to Kent's mammoth 615 all out - their best score at Tunbridge Wells - the visitors reached 83 before losing two wickets in the space of four overs.
Mark Chilton, dropped on four by Symonds at second slip in the first over from Mohammad Sami, reached 37 before running himself out.
Pushing to mid-on he set off for a risky run, only for Symonds to follow through, spin and throw down the non-striker's end stumps.
Just nine runs later Mal Loye (1) pushed at a Symonds leg-cutter to edge a low catch to Niall O'Brien behind the stumps.
Kent's chances of winning the game were hampered when spinner Min Patel limped off with a slight hamstring strain.
The left armer went for immediate treatment, but may struggle to bowl in the first innings.
