TAKALOO made a winning return to the ring, beating journeyman Londoner Delroy Mellis on points in their eight round light-middleweight contest in Edinburgh on Saturday.
It was the 29-year-old Margate boxer's first fight since losing his WBU light middleweight title challenge against Wayne Alexander last September, and having won easily he is already looking ahead to a possible meeting with British champion Jamie Moore.
Mellis proved a difficult opponent and gave Takaloo a good work-out, with the Thanet man's biggest problems being a cut on the back of his head, and another over his right eye.
He started slowly, but looked well in control, with many TV viewers seeing him fight for the first time.
The fight was screened by ITV2 after Alex Arthur's European super-featherweight title win, and Takaloo finished strongly to record his 23rd professional victory.
