Gillingham v Millwall
STAN TERNENT heads into the derby encounter with Millwall on Saturday looking to preserve his unbeaten run at Priestfield.
Since taking over as manager from Andy Hessenthaler, Ternent has amassed 10 points from a possible 12 on home soil.
And the Gills boss is keen to preserve his impressive home record, in what he reckons will be a tough match to call.
He said: "Hopefully we can continue to be their bogey team. It's a derby match and it's a big game for us. Millwall are a good side. They're near the top and they're well organised.
"While I've been here our home form has been excellent and we'll be giving it our best shot because we've got to.
"But a derby match is a derby match and anything can happen. Form can go out of the window. We need to play with desire and passion and a will to win.
"It will be difficult and competitive and we need a little break. It's going to be a battle as to who can handle the situation better."
Ternent saw his side produce a shocking first half display during the defeat against Watford. And he'll be expecting a lot more from his players from now on.
He said: "We need to string two halves together. It's about time we started realising that it's only two 45-minute sessions a week.
"It's not too much to ask and they need to give it their best shot. And whether we win, lose or draw we need to be giving it our best. It's no good just performing for only half a match.
"Every game we play from now on is really important. The thing that's been disappointing me is the away games as we've only taken one win all season."
Ternent's injury worries are easing with Matt Jarvis (hernia) and Steve Banks (knee) both coming through a reserve match unscathed.
However, defender Chris Hope could be sidelined for up to a month with a groin injury, while Danny Spiller (leg fracture) is a still a fortnight away and Mamady Sidibe (achilles) is a long-term casualty.
