Leicester 2 Gillingham 0
GILLINGHAM manager Stan Ternent wants his players to forget about their 2-0 defeat at Leicester City and regroup for the battle against relegation.
The Gills were disappointing at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday in a match that brought an end to their four-game unbeaten league run.
And Cardiff's 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday means Gills, who have been in the bottom three since early October last year, are now three points from safety.
Now the players have two weeks to recover until their next league game at Watford and Ternent does not want them spending that time dwelling on the poorest performance of his managerial reign at the club.
He said: "The players have been fantastic since I've been here and hopefully this was just a blip. We didn't expect to win every game but we didn't deserve to get anything from the game.
"I have said before that we will have setbacks along the way and today was one of those days. We bounced back a bit in the second half and had we got one we might have been in with a chance.
"But we'll bounce back. We'll work hard on the training ground for the next two weeks and the players will get a much needed break next weekend and I'm still confident we can get the seven or eight wins we need from our last 16 games to survive."
