Three teams in with a chance

A REAL dog-fight has developed in Division 3 of the Shepherd Neame Kent Village Cricket League with three teams still in with a great chance of the title.

Leaders Dymchurch and second placed Minster meet in what should be the decider on the last day of the season.

Someone is going to be disappointed at the end of play on September 8 and a key game could come this weekend when Minster entertain third placed Brook. Victory for Brook would put all the pressure on Minster in the final game at home to Dymchurch.

Winless Yarding couldn't face a more difficult finish to Division 2, visiting title hopefuls Great Chart this weekend and then Chart's main challengers Holborough Valley in the last game.

Mersham Le Hatch have been in tremendous form again this season and face what looks a comfortable finish against fourth from bottom Benenden and then bottom Southfleet in the last game.

But hoping for a slip up are Hunton with two home games and outsiders Headcorn who also end with two games at home.

Selling could play a key role in deciding Division 6 visiting leaders Hawkinge on Sunday and then promotion hopefuls Smarden in the last game.

Poised on the Hawks shoulder are Hollingbourne who entertain Staplehurst and then visit Exiles at Bridge.

Stockbury, runners-up last season, look to have the league crown sewn up with a visit to Ash which should clinch the title.

But an upset would give heart to chasers Chislet, who visit the leaders in the last game.
