Tickets still available for snooker classic

TWO of the greatest snooker players of all time will lock horns at Gillingham's Black Lion Centre tomorrow (Friday) night. Jimmy White and Steve Davis will play a best of seven-challenge match in the Embassy Snooker Classic. But that's not before Medway amateur snooker champion Wayne Fuller gets a second shot at the Whirlwind.

Fuller is looking for revenge after he was beaten by White in last year's one-frame challenge match and earned his right for a rematch by winning the Medway Messenger Snooker League singles title for the second successive year.

Legendary master or ceremonies Alan Hughes will be doing the honours as the giants of the green baize set to work entertaining the crowds. Davis is one of the most successful exponents of the sport. He has reached eight world finals winning six of them.

White, on the other hand, is the nearly man of world snooker. He has finished runner-up in the World Championships on no more than six occasions but can still boast 22 professional titles, including nine ranking tournaments.

Following the Davis/White match will be an exhibition of snooker cabaret - a must for all enthusiasts hoping to learn a few tricks.

Tickets for the snooker extravaganza are priced £12 and available from the Black Lion Centre on 01634 283700 or from the Medway Today office, 395 High Street, Chatham.
