ARMOUR: "It is make or break for me"

KENT'S former WBU bantamweight champion Johnny Armour will return to the ring on Friday, December 17.

The 35-year-old from Chatham will take on Huddersfield boxer Dale Robinson for a title, believed to be either the English or Commonwealth bantamweight crown.

Armour, who last fought in his ill-fated WBU title defence against Australian Nathan Sting in June last year, is delighted to finally get a date.

He said: “This is the one. This is the biggest fight, above all my fights, and I’ll be ready. It’s time to get Johnny Armour back up where he belongs and I can’t wait to get in the ring.

“Dale Robinson is a good opponent for me because he suits my style and I should beat him comfortably. He always comes forward and I certainly won’t have to go looking for him.

“I shouldn’t have taken the Sting fight because I didn’t have enough time to prepare. I should have pulled out. But this fight is too important. It is make or break for me.”

Details of the venue and title are expected to be confirmed in the near future.
