Gillingham v Rochdale
Simeon Jackson will be handed a starting role in Gillingham's home League 2 game against Rochdale on Tuesday.
The seven-goal leading scorer was dropped to the bench on Saturday after travelling to Jamaica for World Cup duty with Canada, but will lead the attack at Priestfield.
Mark Stimson knows how important Jackson will be as Gills aim to stop a Rochdale side who have gone eight league games unbeaten and sit third in League 2.
“He has done a lot of travelling and his body clock is shot,” said Stimson, explaining the reason for leaving Jackson on the bench against Bury.
“We knew that would happen but we can’t take the opportunity away from him and what he just experienced because it’s a chance of a lifetime. He’ll be back on Tuesday night.”
Andy Barcham will also be hoping to be involved after a week’s rest. He was told to avoid training after a clash with Rotherham keeper Andy Warrington last Saturday left him with a cut to the head.
Curtis Weston lasted over an hour on Saturday, despite hardly training with a hip injury, and should start.
