Top scorer Smith quits Dynamos

Invicta Dynamos' top scorer Andy Smith has left the club for English Premier League play-off champions Slough Jets.

Slough confirmed the signing of Smith on their website this week and despite the massive hole in production left by the 23-year-old’s departure, Invicta head coach Kevin Parrish isn’t overly concerned.

“Anytime you lose a player who scores over 100 points a season it’s a big loss,” he admitted. “But Andy needed more inspiration if he was going to improve his game and make the step up.

"Playing for Slough in the EPL gives him that chance and allows me to continue to build a squad of players who will commit to the club all year round.

"Towards the end of the last two campaigns Andy hasn’t been able to do that.”

Smith scored 103 points last season, taking his career haul for the club to over 400, but Parrish has already managed to earmark a successor.
