Naomi Cavaday will play the reigning champion and four-time winner Venus Williams in the first round of Wimbledon.
The 19-year-old from Chislehurst, who is ranked 196th in the world, will take on the powerful number seven seed on Tuesday.
Cavaday is a wildcard entry to the tournament having come close to knocking out another former champion, Martina Hingis, in the first round of last year’s championships.
She has won two competitions in her professional career to date and is regarded by some as one of the most promising young British female tennis player to emerge since the 1980s.
Williams completed her fourth victory by beating Marion Bartoli 6-4, 6-1 in last year's final.
