James Tredwell says Kent need to hold onto their catches to improve their fortunes.

Kent have only taken 17 wickets in their opening two LV= County Championship Division 2 games - both draws – but have seen 10 chances of varying difficulty put down.

Tredwell admitted: "Our catching has not been too hot. We put down six chances at Lancashire and that was after four in the first game.

"The positive is that we are creating those chances, we’re not bowling all-day without looking like taking a wicket.

"Of course the idea is to hold on to them but with the number of chances we are creating, then if they do stick, we will be in a good place.

"It’s not ideal but it would be far more disheartening if we were not creating the chances in the first place."
