Kent spinner James Tredwell has been named in the England squad for next month's ICC World T20 in Bangladesh, and a limited overs tour to the Caribbean before it.

Tredwell has only just returned from the ill-fated Ashes tour to Australia and was included in the final 15-man party for the tournament, which was whittled down from a 30-man long-list.

The former Kent skipper - who will turn 32 while in the Caribbean - has 27 ODI caps for England and has appeared in eight t20 games - including a brief spell as captain against New Zealand in a washed-out game at the Oval last June.

Stuart Broad will captain the squad in both the ODIs in the Caribbean in the absence of Alastair Cook as well as the t20s and in the ICC World Twenty20. Eoin Morgan will be vice-captain for both tours.

National Selector James Whitaker said:"England have won the ICC World T20 before - in 2010 in the Caribbean - and this group has an exciting mix of youth and t20 experience and I am sure with good preparation, desire and determination they will be able to produce an exciting brand of cricket.”
