Triumph for county's bowls team

MEMBERS of the the Kent bowls team performed well to easily defeat Surrey in the Home Counties League at Croydon Bowls Club. Four of the six rinks won their matches with the other two going down.

There were comprehensive wins for Alan Dunn's, Paul Barnicott's and DJ Williams's rinks, and Gordon Charlton's rink had a narrow three shot win.

The overall score of 125-96 gave Kent 18 points and Surrey four. There are now two matches remaining in the league, and Kent will be looking to win them both to give them a chance of a second or third place finish.
