Simeon Jackson fired Gillingham to three points in a win 2-1 against Luton on Tuesday night and insisted: “The job’s not finished yet.”

The win gave Gillingham a better chance of survival but Jackson wasn’t getting carried away with his own or his team’s efforts.

“I’m just glad I can do my job and score goals,” he said. “We haven’t escaped it yet. The bunch of lads are all together and we’re going to keep pushing until the final game. It was buzzing afterwards. The chairman came in to the changing rooms and everyone was happy.

“We said afterwards that the job’s not finished yet. It was a great result and we just have to move on to Saturday now.

“There are some big games coming up and we’re not out of it yet. Hopefully we can get those results and we’ll come good.”

Jackson praised his fellow striker and newcomer Georges Ba who made an immediate impact when he came on as substitute.

“Georges came on and changed the game for us,” said Jackson. “He’s a good player, he’s got good feet and is a big lad. He’ll help us in the next few games.”
